The development of an educational programme which introduces robotics and coding to people with deafness or hearing impairment will address the need for the right of access and participation of a neglected group to learning opportunities, ensure their participation and inclusion in the digitalised labour market as well as enhance accessibility, equality, education and training.

Ensure access and participation of students with deafness or hearing impairments through the design and development of a Training Package which promotes coding/robotics skills that integrates into all STEM fields (Science, Technology, engineering and mathematics). Design and implement the programme for students with in-built ICT training offered both on-line and face-to-face, and constant monitoring and assessment procedures through a mentoring offered in an open environment.

IO1: A survey to map out the integration of coding and robotics skills within the community of young people/students with disabilities and deaf students or with hearing impairment; An Inclusive Handbook for the needs and requirements of people with deafness or hearing impairments; The Coding, Robotics and STEM COMPETENCE FRAMEWORK analysing the skills to be used as part of the innovative ROBOTICS4DEAF programme to be offered IO2: A training material which will contain teaching packs for the coding and STEM skills to be acquired, an inclusive eco-system for reaching through assessment tools of Open Badges, upskilling course for parents and a campaign to promote ROBOTICS4DEAF Clubs; A digital data bank with a wide selection of tools and resources. IO3: A registration profile for teachers and students; Open Badges assessment and validation system; A digital learning environment; Interactivity and interconnectivity based on e-academy which will include the involvement of experts to provide guidance and support to teachers on issues relevant to teaching coding to young students. Also, an e-data bank which will include various resources and e-tools to support management and learning as well as an e-community for teachers to exchange ideas and good practices between them. A mobile application presenting educational material, assessment profiles, communication methods and open badges to its users in a modern and user-friendly way. IO4: And pilot-test the A to Z GUIDE necessary for the implementation of the ‘ROBOTICS4DEAF PROGRAMME’ for skills acquisition (to include road map, guidelines, templates, good examples, monitoring tools, practical tips , SWOT analysis etc.); The CAMPAIGN and a PETITION in support of introducing this type of skills to students; SYNERGIES with teachers, trainers, business and ICT experts, professionals, banks, enterprises, SMEs etc. needed for the sustainability and exploitation of the project.
